Sisters Attend Parish and School Anniversaries

Posted 6/28/2018

Returning to former ministries, Ursuline Sisters have attended and joined in the celebration of parish and school anniversaries.

April 28 – OLPH Parish – 100th Anniversary – Sr. Donna Frey and Sr. Elizabeth Marie Brell attended the celebration that included Liturgy, dinner and a variety show. Sr. Liz was grateful for the chance to go back to OLPH as an administrator. One of her thoughts regarding the OLPH celebration was “how could OLPH do anything so big and wonderful without Jean Bigler?” Sr. Liz also had served at St. Rose and St. John.

May 12 – St. Rose, Perrysburg School – 150th Anniversary – Srs. Donna Frey, Joy Gray and Regina Smith celebrated with many friends from their days of serving at the school. The celebration included Liturgy followed by a picnic supper. Sr. Joy said it was “great fun to renew acquaintances with former teachers, parents and students, some of whom I haven’t seen for 30 years.”

June 23 - St. John the Baptist, Point Place – 100th Anniversary – Sr. Margaret Anne Carstensen and Sr. Ann Marie McManus celebrated with friends at the liturgy and dinner. Bishop Daniel Thomas was the presider, along with past pastors and assistants. She said “the music was beautiful; like old times being reunited with friends; nice to be back for a ‘party’; it was an outstanding celebration!"
