December Reflection - Advent Waiting

Posted 11/29/2018

What are you waiting for?

Here we are on the doorsteps of the First Sunday of Advent. Our world, our earth, our culture, our society, our neighbors, our families, our friends, our community….all are seeking the peace that only the soon-to-be born Infant Jesus can give us.      We wait for peace.

What are you waiting for?
The resting place, the nesting place, the cradle, the stable, the inn, our hearts….all are to be made ready to welcome the Baby Jesus when he breaks through the darkness into the light of hope.
We wait for new hope.

What are you waiting for?
With patience, gentle and quiet anticipation, and stilled hearts we long to have our deepest yearnings made known and heard. Time goes by, sometimes all too quickly, yet time can be forever when awaiting someone so special as a newborn baby. Love surrounds the innocence and awesome miracle of birth! Love is all we really want to give and receive.               Love is at the very center of our being.

As the days of Advent move one into the other, may each of these days provide us with the opportunity to really prepare a special place for Jesus in our lives. May the hurts and wounds of the past year be forgotten or forgiven so that a New Year can truly begin with Joy!
