The Dicastery for Integral Human Development is planning to help Catholic communities around the world become more sustainable in the development of Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Sí.

The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) and Conference of Major Superiors of Men CMSM) will be coordinating with Sowing Hope for the Planet, a project of the International Union Superiors General and Union Superiors General to facilitate participation of religious who commit to this journey. (UISG/USG)

To be launched May 24, 2021, this project will build on what many communities are already doing regarding care for the earth. The plan is to focus on seven areas within the global Catholic community: families, communities, educational institutions, hospitals and healthcare centers, business and farms, organizations and religious orders.

These areas of involvement will work toward seven goals:
Response to the cry of the earth
Response to the cry of the poor
Ecological economics
Adoption of simple lifestyles
Ecological education
Ecological spirituality
