Sisters and Associates Gather to Celebrate the Feast of St. Ursula

Posted 11/1/2021

Celebrating the Feast of St. Ursula was a wonderful experience this year as the Ursuline Sisters and Associates were able to gather in-person for liturgy, dinner and a guest speaker on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

Using “Journeying with Christ in Hope and Trust” as a background theme for the feast of St. Ursula, the Sisters and Associates renewed their vows and commitment to God’s call in their lives, as well as being missioned to fulfill God’s call in ministry, volunteer work and other forms of charitable works.

Following a wonderful luncheon, many sisters and associates gathered in the Convent Offices for a presentation on Marie of the Incarnation, the first Ursuline missionary to the New World in 1639. The speaker was Sister Maureen Grady, Ursuline of Cleveland, Ohio, who co-facilitates a faith sharing group of sisters and lay associates on Marie of the Incarnation. Sister Maureen spoke of the unique partnership of Madeleine de la Peltrie, a lay woman, who walked beside Marie in her journey to Quebec and the foundation of the Ursuline Convent and school.

A quote from Marie of the Incarnation that one might want to remember:
“My moments and my days are in the hands of God who gave me life.”
