The Ursuline Sisters are grateful for your generous gifts which help make a difference in the lives of so many – through Catholic education, parish and hospital ministry, the care of our retired and infirm Sisters and many other outreach services. Please consider the Ursuline Sisters of Toledo in your planning. The legal name to be used is: Ursuline Convent of the Sacred Heart Foundation.
Cash Gifts: Although cash is always welcome, gifts by check are most common. Please make your check payable to the Ursuline Convent of the Sacred Heart. You may designate retirement, general use or area of greatest need according to your wishes.
Gifts of Appreciated Stock or Mutual Funds: can be gifted in kind (without selling or paying capital gains taxes) by sending your stock certificate directly to the Ursulines or by arranging an electronic transfer directly from your brokerage, trust or mutual fund account through DTC to the Ursulines' account.
Charitable Gift Annuity: You can contribute cash or publicly traded securities to the Ursulines in exchange for a lifetime stream of income for you and your spouse, if applicable. The income may begin right away or be deferred until a later time when you may need it more. Eventually, the principal goes to the Ursulines to further their ministries.
Charitable Remainder Trust: You can place assets in trust and receive income for life. You may also designate your spouse, children or others to receive the income. You receive a charitable tax deduction, avoid capital gains taxes and remove the assets from your taxable estate. Eventually, the assets pass to the Ursuline Sisters to help further their ministries. Different varieties such as the Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT) and the Charitable Remainder Unitrust (CRUT) are available.
Charitable Lead Trust: You can place assets in a trust which pays out income to the Ursuline Sisters for a specified number of years. When the term is up, the principal can be passed to your children or grandchildren with estate and gift taxes reduced or even eliminated.
Gift of Life Insurance Policies: You may designate the Ursulines as owner and beneficiary of a new insurance policy and receive a charitable tax deduction for premium payments which you make. You may also donate a paid-up policy to the Ursulines if it has outlived its original purpose and receive a tax deduction equal to its replacement value.
Gift of IRA/Retirement Assets: You may keep assets away from taxation by bequeathing your retirement account to the Toledo Ursulines.
Bequests: Please remember the Toledo Ursulines in your will.
